25 Weeks Pregnant: Pregnancy Hormones And Home Improvements

July 6, 2014

Here’s A Pregnancy Update At 25 Weeks Pregnant

Here’s my latest pregnancy instalment, an update at 25 weeks pregnant in the second trimester.

And Here’s My 25 Weeks Pregnant Baby Bump

Kind of! If you squint you can see my baby at 25 weeks and my 25 weeks pregnant baby bump.

25 Weeks Pregnant Symptoms: It’s Hormonal, Baby!

At pregnancy week 25,  the pregnancy symptoms seems to be all about hormones and home improvements…no change there then.

I hate to be such a comedic pregnancy stereotype but at one point this week I was absolutely fine, the next I was crying for 20 minutes about something so intensely and world-alteringly important that I can’t even remember what it is now.

(Note: I’m writing this at 26 weeks, where I just cried three times during the tennis final despite not really caring about who won).

Apart from all that I’m feeling absolutely fine. I saw the midwife again and we even had a pretty positive chat about labour, and how there’s a chance I might be able to give birth on the lovely sounding midwife-led unit and not automatically in the labour ward (where I’d assumed I’d have to go due to being high risk). That’s if I can avoid induction by going into labour spontaneously pre-due date. She said to chat to my consultant about it, so who knows – obviously I want and will do whatever’s going to be best for the baby without a second thought, but if there’s a chance I might have a slightly more relaxing birth than last time then I’d like to take it.

Pregnancy Week 25: The Bump

And OK, I know this photo isn’t strictly a 25 weeks pregnant bump shot, but it does really illustrate the home improvements side of the week, where  I suddenly got an itch to scrape off all the awful wallpaper from our halls, like some giant and crazy nesting pregnant creature. We’re nearly finished with Eliza’s room, and work on our kitchen starts next week, so I have hope that we might be at some reasonable level of a finished house in October. Fingers crossed.

25 weeks pregnant - an update at week 25 of pregnancy in the second trimester with signs, symptoms and cravings

But the wallpaper thing; is this a bizarre pregnancy craving, or just nesting come really, really early?

I can relate to the crying, I cried for ages Thurs night over the shop being shut then again yesterday because my due date buddy had her baby before me haha I love the photo, I think the home renovation thing does step up a gear doesn’t it? You want to bring baby home to a completed house 🙂 Oh, the chickens didn’t work, still contracting and still at home!xx

Oh the crying, I totally understand the crying. I cried as Mr G cleaned the windows, but I had done them only a few days earlier.. I then cried at a lady who phoned randomly..well I doubt she will call again..! Whoopsie! Nesting has just set in here too (i’m 34weeks..) except I am obsessed with the idea of wanting a reclining arm-chair…?! odd.

I knooow! The most ridiculous things make me cry too. I’d forgotten that it gets even worse after you’ve given birth too, doesn’t it…my poor husband x

I’m feeling the same as you at the moment! I wonder if ending bf makes you nest too? As I’ve become addicted to wallpaper and painting all our furniture!! Love that mirror btw. The midwife unit sounds positive. Fingers crossed you get to have the birth you want xx

Sounds like it! Must be all those crazy hormones for both of us. Can’t wait to see your finished results. The mirror was bought from an auction when I was about 15, really randomly (my dad took me along and let me bid on one thing) x

Oh yes. The crying. I can’t even listen to the radio in the car without ending up a blubbering wreck at the moment. That new Eminem song about his mum? OMG. I was snotting all over the steering wheel. Seriously. And as for the nesting thing – I’m sure you’re not alone. We still have lots of things to do in the house before we’re ready for baby in the autumn and I’m getting HUGE frustration that none of it’s done yet! Lovely to see you at this week’s #BlogBumpClub! x

I’ve not heard it but that sounds like it might set me off…from what I remember of my snotty tennis haze, it was when Djokovic talked about his fiance and their baby…ahhh! Will try and join in each week now, so lovely to read lots of new blogs and people in similar states 🙂 x

You are not on your own with the nesting! I have seven weeks left and have just stripped all my bedroom floors and declared the whole room needs renovating before baby arrives. Problem is I don’t start maternity leave until 3 weeks before baby and I have two monster toddlers to deal with when I’m not working so it’s an almost impossible task! My hormones are telling me everything needs to be perfect for their arrival though. I seem to be just getting over the crying stage thankfully it’s a killer isn’t it?! Look forward to reading more about your pregnancy 🙂 #blogBumpClub

Ooh how are the floors going? We have floorboards in our bedroom at the moment and can’t decide between doing something with the boards and getting a sensible carpet. Must be really hard with two running around though. And ditto – just discovered your lovely blog! x

Ah the joys of the crazy crying – there are a whole heap of things I just can’t watch on tv at the moment because they’ll set me off! Your home improvements sound incredibly energetic; and sound like they’ll be wonderful when they’re finished!

I am so with you on the crying – I am 23 weeks and have been blubbing on and off all week, so frustrating, and exhausting! It’s all about the nesting and home improvements in our house too so I am glad to read I am not the only one who seems to be nesting early! 🙂 xx #blogbumpclub

Oh god, crying at random things, it’s awful! I almost cried at my desk at work today watching that viral vid of a mother cat cuddling her kitten who’s having a nightmare. The shame …
Good news for your birth 🙂 #BlogBumpClub

Nesting isn’t in my DNA 🙂 We are talking about painting maybe but probably should get all the office crap out of the office first 🙂
