Pregnancy week 16: keep on moving

May 2, 2014

Pregnancy week 16…So the big and really exciting news this week is…our bathroom is finished! What’s that, you say – this should be a post about your pregnancy? Well, the bathroom has been the main focus of my life for about 100 years and I’m just so thrilled it’s done that I can’t really think about anything else. And it means I don’t have to traipse up and down the stairs to go to the loo in the middle of the night (glamorous pregnancy joys).

Pregnancy week 16 - an update at 16 weeks pregnant in the first trimester. Bump shop and update

At one point we had no bathroom in our bathroom, a bath in our front garden, the new bathroom suite in our front room, piles of tiles in the dining room, and building stuff everywhere (and I mean, everywhere. The hall, our bedroom, the landing, Eliza’s room, outside, the stairs up to our third bedroom). And the building dust? The less said about that, the better.

It’s beyond amazing to finally have a fully operational bath, shower, sink and so on. I do think though, that however annoying it’s been when I’m pregnant, it would have been so much worse with a tiny mewling newborn.

It’s a bit difficult to tell from the photo, but Eliza’s playing with her and my new favourite thing, a beautiful Mexican Bola necklace I was sent from Blooming Lovely. I’ll post a proper review soon.

And in terms of my actual pregnancy, the really big news about week 16 is that I have definitely felt the baby move (I wasn’t too sure last week). But there he or she is, making their little presence known. It’s such a joyful sensation, isn’t it? Hey baby, sit tight, but we can’t wait to meet you soon.

Here’s my updates at 15 weeks pregnant, 14 weeks pregnant, and the first trimester bumper edition.
