17 Weeks Pregnant: Sleeping The Sleep Of The Second Trimester

May 11, 2014

Here’s My Latest Pregnant Update At 17 Weeks Pregnant

So we’re in week 17 of pregnancy, what’s that like? Well, I’m 17 weeks pregnant and TIRED.

Here’s more about pregnancy week 17…but first…

17 Weeks Pregnant Symptoms (I’m TIRED)

Lost: one burst of second trimester energy.

If found, please return to: Gill, the yawning one who’s usually trying to sneak in a nap in the corner.

Is it true about the second trimester burst of energy? As I’m yet to experience it. I’m still So. Very. Tired.

I can’t remember if I had one last time. But I guess last time I wasn’t looking after a toddler and still breastfeeding, both of which probably counteract it. And as E didn’t sleep through consistently till she was two, I think sleep-wise I’ll forever be playing catch-up. I’ve been joining her for a lovely midday nap more often than not (sleep wins over spare time, every time).

Week 17 Of Pregnancy: My Growing Baby Bump

I cracked out the maternity clothes this week, but only because I had a work meeting and wanted to wear one of my Isabella Oliver dresses from first time round, bought on the luxury of a full-time wage.

My 17 weeks pregnant baby bump is ooking a bit more pregnant, but still half-way between ‘desperately sticking my stomach out’ and ‘big bowl of pasta for lunch’, bump-wise.

17 weeks pregnant - what's it like to be in week 17 of pregnancy and in your second trimester? Here's an update on what to expect, signs, symptoms and weird cravings

It feels like early days though, despite nearly being half-way through the second trimester now and nearly half way through the pregnancy (YIKES, when did that happen?) It’s a strange slow / quick limbo. Did it feel like this for everyone during your second pregnancy?

Yes! The re-energising state of the 2nd trimester has been true for me. I was completely wiped out in my 1st trimester, but now my energy has returned. I guess everyone is different, but I’m sure you will regain your energy soon 🙂

Oh bless you, it’s horrible being tired. But that cardigan combined with your beautiful hair will have woken everybody else up at your meeting – lovely stuff!

I still feel like its ages and I’m 32 weeks this week. You’re always tired with a toddler, I nap as much as I can although getting to that uncomfortable sleeping stage and the energy thing…yeah right! Its like the blooming part of pregnancy, I seem to be spotty and tired looking always!!

You must be so close now! Dreading the uncomfortable sleeping stage. I think the blooming part is a bit of a myth, especially second time round x
