Win: a children’s play tent to celebrate spring
I’ve recently made Eliza a tepee-style children’s play tent, and since then we’ve had a lot of fun playing in it. So far it’s been a brilliant springboard for creative play when we’ve been stuck inside; it’s been everything from a rocket to a reading nook and a lunch venue.
But spring is on the way – it is! it is – and that means lots more potential for outdoor play. I was contacted by Big Game Hunters, a family-run business that supplies children’s outdoor play equipment. After spending most of last year on our house renovation, this year we’ll be working on the garden and there are so many brilliant things on this site I have my eye on (how amazing are these castle playhouses?).
Big Game Hunters has offered to give a children’s Aztec Wigwam play tent (worth £59.99) to one reader, in a bid to spur on your own creative play this spring.
To enter:
Use the Rafflecopter widget below to leave a blog comment and tell me your favourite outdoor game (anything you want from rounders to hide and seek).
The prize draw giveaway will open at 12am on Thursday 19th February and close at 12am on Monday 9th March. UK entries only.
Once you’ve entered, make sure you check out my prize giveaway of a Skip Hop Deluxe baby bag worth £65.
Make sure you also check out my posts on toddler entertainment tactics, and 15 tips for new parents.

My grandson and I play explorers- we have to put all our kit on, then off we go. Sometimes it is in the back garden where we each add the next bit of our adventure, it might be bug collecting or we go to the park where the climbing frame becomes the mountain, or the swing takes us over the river. Sometimes we go off into The National Forest (still in our gear) and do the designated bare foot walk or do tree rubbings which we take home and make frames to create pictures. The list is endless due to his imagination but it all costs nothing.

My brother likes to hide lots of garden toys around our garden and then the small children run off to find as many of them as possible each. The child who finds the most items then gets to do the next lot of hiding. It ends up getting ridiculous, but that is more to do with my brother than the game itself….

‘find where the toddler left the toy dog he won’t go to sleep without’ is a good one, but always used to enjoy our version of Colditz, which involved two of us marching back and forth as sentries, while the others tried to sneak closer and closer in the dark until spotted.. Not much to do with Colditz, but it kept us occupied for hours, so the parents were happy too…..!
