Snow days
OK, so it was only a very light dusting and it melted pretty quickly, but we’re totally claiming this as Florence’s first – very southern – snow. We made mini Olafs and everything – so that counts, right?
The best thing about snow when you were younger was always staying home from school to play in it, wasn’t it? We used to sit around the radio, listening to the local station where they’d read out a list of all the schools that were closed, hoping and hoping they’d read out ours (thinking about it now, this seems like a story from the olden days of pre-mobile yore). As a parent, now, the best thing is surely seeing your children’s faces on seeing the snow.
Florence’s verdict? Excited by all the excitement then mildly unimpressed once we were out in it. She loved her hat though, and the post-snow hot drink and biscuit-fest.
More firsts…first shoes, take two, everything you’ll obsess about in your baby’s first year and 25 inevitable events from the first six months.
