Solving your DIY woes with Bosch
Who does the DIY in your house? Our jobs are divided up on a purely practical level, based on will get them done the best, in the quickest time. So Alex does the home fixing tasks, mainly because he can actually use a toolkit, is taller and actually has an attention span.
However, I think of DIY as a vital life skill that everyone needs to know, so I recently went along to the Bosch Design It Yourself master class to learn how to use power tools and also pick up some crafty tips that will come in handy for future Pinterest-type projects. You may remember Bosch from this comment on one of my blog posts; the company is currently running a campaign to dispel the stereotypes and myths surrounding typical DIY tasks that people may have.
The event was held at Homemade London and TV presenter Cherry Healy was on hand to offer tips and guidance (aka general gossip). I was taught to use the Bosch Glue Pen and I got to choose between one of three different projects from the photos above. I chose the mosaic photo frame in the middle – there is something very therapeutically soothing about sitting and glueing, don’t you think?
I was given my own electric Glue Pen to take away and I’ll definitely be using it on lots of projects in our new house. My mum had one when we were younger and it was always a whole lot of fun. Eliza’s not really at the glueing stage at the moment, but I’m looking forward to us making a lot of mess when she is. And helping Alex fix things round the house, of course.
We’ve also launched a TalkMum Pinterest account, and you can win one of two Bosch Glue Pens over there at the moment.
Thanks BoschUK! I was invited along to the event and given a Glue Pen of my own.

Ha! Bit sad that I have an opinion on this but Bosch is my go to brand for pretty much all electrical goods. Just bought a kettle and toaster for the new house and will soon be adding a washing machine and tumble drier. They look good and also work really well.
