Mum must-haves for travelling in style with kids

June 5, 2014

It’s summer (I think…*looks out of window and sees sun behind a cloud.*) So that hopefully means holidays, and lots of travel.

But just because you have children and now have to cart an awful lot of stuff around with you doesn’t mean you have to have boring and unstylish things. Here’s a featured post about traveling in style with kids:

Travelling with young kids and babies can often be a daunting experience. Whether it’s a fleeting weekend away or a full blown holiday excursion, sometimes it’s just not the smooth ride we’d like it to be.

In the flurry of trying to get out the door in time, hoping you’ve packed everything and praying that you’ll survive the journey with minimal ‘mummy I’m bored!’ moments or seemingly endless crying, it’s so easy to forget about looking stylish whilst travelling with kids.

Often, settling for whatever gets the job done regardless of how it looks is just the easiest option. However, we’ve scoured the web and found some seriously practical, yet wonderfully stylish mummy and kid must-haves that we think will totally re-vamp (and add some serious style points to) your tot-toting travels.

The ‘it’ pram: Forget about the ‘it’ bag, it’s all about the ‘it’ pram! Say goodbye to boring, ugly pushchairs and chauffeur your little ones in serious style with the Ooba Travel System from Cosatto.

A pretty change: Nappy changing isn’t very glamorous, but you may as well do it in style with this gorgeous nappy changing bag from Cath Kidston. It’s such a lovely bag you’d never guess it was for changing nappies.

Tidy toys: Kids love bringing their toys with them when they travel, but often it can look like a toy-filled bomb has hit within minutes. Stay tidy and organised with this lovely drawstring toy bag fromNot on the High Street. Not only can you personalise the bag with their name on, but you can also choose the font colour.

Speedy snacks: Reduce your journey time (and save some pennies) by cutting down on the number of food stops you make. With these lovely snack boxes from Dot Com Gift Shop, you can pack some tasty treats for the whole family to keep you going en-route.

Take the scenic route: When heading off on a family trip, sometimes you can get overwhelmed by how many documents, passports and tickets you need. Stay both organised and fashionable with this gorgeous large travel pouch from NOTHS.

A colourful car journey: Liven up boring car journeys by adding some colour with the Scootle Car Seat in Spectroscope from Cosatto. Super stylish, yet brilliantly practical, the Scootle is suitable for ages 9 months all the way up to 12 years and will make both you and your children smile every time you look at it.

Hopefully these have given you some great ideas on how to add some serious style to your tot-toting travels without compromising on practicality. Which is your favourite?
