Five festive firsts
1) That all-important first meeting with Santa. Eliza was fine, didn’t cry, and was only moderately interested in his beard.
It must have gone well, as Christmas came slightly early in the shape of 2) her first present, a beautiful wooden pram that someone took her first non-furniture steps with. It currently houses lots of wooden blocks and some Angry Birds (thanks to my Gran for sending, we love it!)
Her first Christmas decorations. 4) I bought the ceramic star, made by a local artist as I wanted something we could remember every year, and 5) the horse was sent by my mum. This year we wisely went for a tiny tree we could keep away from curious hands, and it’s currently perched on our dining table – but will be planted in our garden after.
And finally, 5) a sneak preview of the first Christmas Day outfit (one of many). Looks like Santa may well be putting in an appearance this year, but with matching socks this time, I hope.
What have been your favourite festive firsts this year?
It seems strange to think that this time last year I was very pregnant, and so much lay ahead of us. Here’s to a whole lifetime of more firsts (and seconds…and so on!)
Happy Christmas x.

A first Christmas in my new home. We may have boxes still left to unpack, but we’ll be able to put our feet up and enjoy the festivities.

How lovely! Great timing you were in before – and must be a big relief for it all to have gone through OK 🙂
