In the (Cub) bag, baby

August 18, 2015

There’s a new kid on the diaper bag block…have you heard about the Cub change bag?

Cub baby change bag

The Cub is a multi-use, multi-tasking baby bag. As well as being used to cart around all the stuff you tend to accumulate with children, it is also a mobile breastfeeding and bottle feeding pillow and a hip support for carrying older children, so it’s ideal for when you’re out and about.

The Cub diaper bag and breastfeeding support

Designed by Lynsey Burns, a mum who saw a gap in the market for a bag that looked good and was also useful, the Cub is two years in the making and based on the traditional baby carriers used in Peru.

As someone who’s constantly either carrying a child or has one attached to the boob, when a friend mentioned this to me I thought it sounded like a clever idea. I also like the style; it looks like a good alternative to the cross body mum bag and a great half-way (bag) house between that and the giant Mary Poppins change bag you use to carry half the house around. And wouldn’t it be super handy for those occasions when you’re chasing a child across the park or constantly climbing right to the top of the soft play (I don’t think that’s just me…right?)

This is such a good babywearing bag if you have your child on your back! Very cute too. I’d use it even if I didn’t have a baby.

Hello, the idea of the bag is that it works as a carry support when carrying a baby on your hip. Wearing the bag across the body the baby’s bottom sits on the bag, encouraging the parent to not stick their hip out. I had huge problems with my back and hips all due to carry children on my hip. The bag helped hugely – especially when a chunky toddler decides they don’t want to walk anywhere!

I love the shape and styling, it looks great, and not at all like a change bag. x

that’s such a clever idea! I needed to use a bf pillow when Wilf was little but obviously didn’t take it out with me, I had no idea they made bags like this. Love the colour too! x
