The plus one month project

March 12, 2014

Plus one projectEvery year, exactly a month after her birthday – or her birth date, in the first instance – I’ve been taking the same photo of me and Eliza in the same pose, in the same place.

I took a lot of photos during my pregnancy, and wanted to carry on with something similar after she was born, as she grew up. My mum took the first set for my update on one month of being a mum, and I really liked the idea of replicating it every year so you’d really be able to see how much Eliza had grown with a gap of 12 months.

It has only been three sets of photos so far, but I thought I’d post them now as we’ve recently taken the third. It’s funny and lovely seeing her grow from a tiny, sleepy baby to a super-active toddler (also, tired and puffy post-pregnancy face and no make-up from me in the first ones!)

Did you do anything similar with your bump or your babies? x

What a lovely thing to do! I haven’t taken a photo in the same place or anything and I really regret that as it’s a brilliant way to see how they’ve grown.

I can see Eliza changing, with her hair going lighter and curly. You look the same you lucky girl.

This is a brilliant idea. I wish I had done it with Cherry. Guess it’s not too late to start now! x

So cute and what a great idea, I do something similar. I take a photo at 1.37am on F’s birthday every year. So far I have four photos of my sleeping babe, each pose he is slightly bigger and looking more like his daddy. I’ll probably have to stop this when he gets into his teens though as he might find it a bit weird! x

I was doing basket photos every month for the first year but I’ve not done anything since Nye turned 1. It’s so lovely to see how much she’s grown!

Lovely pictures! This is such a lovely idea and will make a great collection of pictures to give to Eliza when she is older. I have a 18mth old girl and I have started something similar – only 2 picts so far – but taken them on her actual birthday and have mounted them in a scrapbook- which I then hope to hand to her on her 18th! It’s great to see how we have both changed – although wish I got younger with each passing year! 🙂 Lovely blog by the way…

Oh how lovely will that be on her 18th? That’s such a great idea, I might do something like that (if I remember to keep it up). And thanks so much! x

Gorgeous photos and so lovely to have them to look back on isn’t it.

I’ve taken a photo of Holden every month since he was born up until he was 2 so now have a set of 24 photos. The first 12, I made in to a photo board for his 1st birthday then did the same for his 2nd with the next 12! I put him in a white vest with a monthly sticker on it then sat him in the same chair with his bunny toy every month. It def got harder the last few months when he wouldn’t sit still but def worth doing! Not sure what I will do now; prob just make sure I take one on each birthday.
