Perfect baby gifts – Natures Purest

June 3, 2013

Natures PurestStrange parenting confession time: not only do all of Eliza’s toys have names, they all have distinct personalities and accents, too*. There’s Ginger Sue with her ghostly northern voice, the trio of Angry Birds – Splitty, Big Manama and Mini Manama – who chat in high-pitched cheeps, and Randa the Irish panda…and that’s just for starters.

To add to Eliza’s collection, Natures Purest sent us the Pure Love Bunny and Hug Me Bear toys to review. Natures Purest make a range of luxury children’s clothing, toys, gifts and nursery accessories, made from organically-grown, naturally-coloured cotton in shades of green, cream and brown. We actually already have the Natalie rag doll (middle image, present from Eliza’s Grannie and Grandad).

The rabbit is very soft and incredibly sweet; you can imagine her being in a Moses basket with a newborn and turning gradually grey as she’s loved so much over the years. The bear is more robust and toddler-friendly, Eliza likes to pick him up by his ear and carry him around the house. He’s also joined in several recent picnics with her new French plastic patisserie set.

Babywearing doll

They are products parents will love as much as children, like the babywearing doll on the left.

It’s all really lovely stuff, with a strong environmental message (unlike that behind the plastic cakes, I imagine). If you’re looking for a gender-neutral and baby-friendly newborn present, look no further.

Natures PurestOh, and incase you were wondering…the rabbit is now called Pierre Lapin and is French (after our holiday, of course).

The bear remains unnamed as of yet…any suggestions?

*(I know we can’t be the only ones who do this…right?)

This is hilarious. Most of James’ toys have northern accents as his grandfather is from Bury and that’s a hard one not to copy 🙂

Brilliant! There’s just something so seductive about a strong accent, isn’t there? I can’t resist copying (although in my head I have the accent skills of an award-winning actor, in reality I’m sure it’s lots different).
