Three things…new necklaces
I miss wearing necklaces! I love the way they pull an outfit together and I’ve always worn them a lot, especially when I was pregnant (as, unlike with clothes, there’s no problem with them fitting over your big bump). Yet due to a wonderfully curious yet inconveniently grabby baby, my collection has recently been consigned to special occasions only. I’m super-conscious of my naked neck and feel really underdressed without them.
So one of the things I’m looking forward to about being back in an office occasionally is actually being able to wear proper clothes and jewellery. Here’s three lovely new necklaces I was given for Christmas and my birthday.
Has having a baby forced you to make any drastic changes to your style? Is there anything you miss wearing that you just can’t risk any more?
(Here’s my original ‘Three Things’ post I wrote about maternity clothes, all those months ago).

This has just reminded me how often I forget to put jewellery on now I have Amelie. Just gets pulled, sucked on, caught in hair/clothes too much but it makes you feel so good. Think I’ll go and put something on now…

I miss earrings! Sadly they now get ripped out. As they become toddlers though I find a chunky necklace is great for providing a few minutes (okay perhaps 30 seconds) of entertainment. Lockets with pictures in that click open and shut are great for this!

Good tips, thank you! We’re still at the stage where anything would go in her mouth or she’d attempt to yank it off, but hopefully I can start to sneak stuff back on soon.

It’s so true! I really miss it – there’s surely a market out there for stylish yet baby-proof jewellery?

I miss wearing black, tight clothes. I love wearing black clothes a lot but everytime I am pregnant, I feel so uneasy wearing ones. By the way, your necklaces are all so lovely.

Thank you! So do you not wear black at all when you’re pregnant? I think I actually wore more fitted / tighter things as I just felt really massive in anything looser.

The one on the left is absolutely gorgeous, I love it. My daugther is 20mths and I’m just about able to start wearing necklaces again. She still plays with them, but doesn’t tend to yank or eat them now!

That gives me so much hope that I might be able to start wearing them again soon! x

It was a birthday present from Alex (Urban Outfitters I think?). I love them too – I miss them so much. It’s been really nice to wear them on the odd days I’m back in an office! x
