Swimming pools, baby spas and Huggies Pure

Frozen swimming ring

One of the biggest revelations from our holiday was just how much both my children took to the water.

Baby pool

Although she was hesitant at first, once armed with her trusty Auuuna and Elsa Frozen swimming ring, Eliza would only get out of the pool to jump straight back in.

Swimming pool

Florence loved crawling around the baby area and was transfixed by the water fountain. And investigating the drain, because clearly that’s what babies do.

While we were by the pool, my fellow Huggies Ambassadors were having some water-based fun of their own at an exclusive baby hydrotherapy spa in London. The babies had gentle water flotation and massage treatments and their mums later learned all about the re-launch of Huggies Pure wipes (you might have heard about the spa; it’s where babies wear floatation devices around their necks. It looks slightly alarming at first but is incredibly relaxing for them).

Baby spa with Huggies Huggies wipes

The Pure wipes have been remade with a brand new formulation that’s designed to leave your baby’s skin feeling clean and healthy. They’re also made with naturally absorbent fibres and are free from parabens, alcohol and all the nasty chemicals.

Did you know all this means the Pure wipes are actually safe to use from birth? I hadn’t realised this (and it would have saved a lot of faffing with cotton wool or the water-only wipes, especially second-time round).

When I was approached to work with Huggies it was a no-brainer for me as it’s the wipe brand we’ve always used, and Pure is our wipe of choice. One of the big things for me is the texture of baby wipes, and I much prefer the softer texture of Huggies to most other ones I’ve tried. Plus, of course, they do they job well.

I was sad to miss catching up with my fellow Huggies Ambassadors, and the spa sounds really relaxing and great fun. But following our holiday I’m washing away my wave of swimming guilt and taking my two water babies to our local pool next week. Do your children love swimming (or spas?!)

Thanks to Huggies for working with me. I’ll be posting more about launches and new products over the next few months. Find out more about Huggies here.

Oh what gorgeous pools you found on holiday! My three love the pool and I suspect would rather like that spa but with three it’s a bit more of a challenge to get the number balance right so we tend to go to the splash pool instead!

Gorgeous photos of the girls at the pool. Both mine love the water, although F has been going through a phase the past few months of being scared of vents and lights and pretty much anything she can’t see properly in the swimming pool. I think she’s worried it’ll pull her in! Baby Girl’s been having swimming lessons since 6 weeks old and has literally never cried in the water. She screams with delight and tries to splash everyone! Shame we didn’t see you at the spa – hopefully we’ll get to meet sometime soon! x

My daughter has always loved the water and in fact, her 12th birthday present was a mermaid tail! It was a solid fin in it and everything, so she swims and does actually look like a mermaid!

Great post. I love how on holidays it’s easier to spend family time in the pool. I used to take my three eldest swimming every week as well as swimming lessons. I stopped last year due to other commitments and planned to go for a family weekly swim. Then it hit me this week that my youngest hasn’t really ever been swimming since she was a baby, so I have serious swim guilt! Off to the pool we go… 😉 x

    A few things:
    1. Love your hair like that
    2. FAB that the girls loved the water so much on holiday!
    3. Totally agree about Huggies wipes – we used them from birth and still use them to this day!
    4. A baby spa, you say? Wow!

Aw, they look like they are having such fun in the water. My youngest loves the water too, in fact I’m going off taking her swimming because of the massive tantrum we get overtime she has to get out!
