OK, hands up, I’ve been pretty rubbish with the old London Monday updates – mainly because we haven’t really been anywhere interesting recently – so here’s the first one in a while. It’s both really fun and for a fantastic cause…
M&S is to launch a pop-up children’s fashion boutique this March, to raise money for Oxfam. The boutique – which will take place in the M&S Marble Arch store in London – will sell childrenswear items donated by celebrities including Joanna Lumley, Abbey Clancy, Rochelle from The Saturdays and Zoe Ball, as well as the best charity donations from the general public. Each celebrity-donated item will include personal words of wisdom stitched into the fabric of the item (wouldn’t it be great to get one of Jonanna’s?)
All money raised will go to Oxfam as part of its Mother Appeal initiative that aims to raise £10 million for projects that help mothers around the world lift themselves and their families out of poverty. How lovely and important a campaign is that?
Entry to the boutique is free but you must bring along an item of children’s clothing to donate before you’ll be allowed in. Follow the campaign via the Twitter feed @shwopping and the hashtag #LoveMum, and you can find out more here: www.marksandspencer.com/
The Shwop Boutique will be at the Marks & Spencer Marble Arch store, 458 Oxford Street from Thursday 6th – Saturday 8th March 2014 – 8am – 9pm.
