Wall stickers and secret squirrels

Kids wall stickers

A recent flurry of new house painting activity has meant that we were finally able to put Eliza’s new wall stickers up. They look great and I think she likes them, but to be honest Alex and I were more concerned with the brilliance of our smooth application and artistic arrangement on the wall (we were pretty pleased with ourselves, I have to say).

They are the ‘Come fly with me’ set from Tinyme, bought with a voucher from the blogger dinner I went to last year. There’s a really wide range of stickers, but we picked these as they fitted with her current love for things in the sky – like most places in London, we’re vaguely near a flight path so spend a lot of time shouting “LOOK, a plane!”. It’s not got boring yet – plus they fitted in with the non-theme of her room (nothing too girly, pink, or very themed).

And talking on Tinyme, onto secret squirrels…and a top-secret project.

Children's name blocks

The guys are Tinyme are working to launch a contemporary version of a children’s classic puzzle – name blocks.

The Tinyme version will allow you to choose your own font, symbol, colour, pattern and design options to create a puzzle that’s personalised to your child (or any other lucky recipient). The puzzle comes with slide-in cards to allow the owner to match first by colour and pattern, and then just by letter.

So why am I telling you this? The different thing about this project is it’s being launched here on Kickstarter so it will be crowdfunded and you can buy yourself your own piece of the puzzle. If it reaches the target, this will enable Tinyme to secure the funds to get the name blocks put into mass production. It’s such a great idea, from a genuinely likeable company, so I really hope it does well. Seriously, what’s not to love about Tinyme?

Wall stickers are such a great invention. I love that Eliza is into skyward things. Tibbs’ favourite book is a £1 number entitled ‘Flying’ from the Pound Shop, which has eight pictures of various craft including bi-plane and hang-glider. We are looking forward to her visiting her first airport. She’ll probably love it!

The wall stickers are fab. Talitha has some butterfly ones up on her wall. I love the idea of having their names everywhere because they get such a kick out of recognising it.

[…] You can see more of Eliza’s toddler room tour and her green door and Ikea hack bookshelves. I think the room is very ‘her’ at the moment so I’m keen for Florence to have her own space. I like the idea of adding box shelves above her bed with all her things on, as well as adding her own pictures and personalised wall stickers. […]
