On the beach

Beach huts at Boscombe beach in BournemouthWe’ve just arrived home from a long weekend in Bournemouth, where the sun actually shone for us, for a change. We were there to help my brother move house (although my contribution to helping mainly involved sitting around and feeding the baby – the most important job though, right?).

I’m not sure what it is about visiting there – perhaps it is true about magic sea air – but Eliza slept soundly for hours each night. Alex and I took advantage of this and hired out the Grandparent babysitting service, enabling us to make it out to the pub on Saturday night for a quick drink – our first time out together without her. No prizes for guessing what our main topic of conversation was, but it was lovely to be just the two of us albeit momentarily.

Today was also another first, as it was warm enough for us all to take Eliza onto beach; she seemed to enjoy the feeling of sand on her feet, as well as her new bucket and her red mini spade (which she gripped all the way home – it looked slightly out of place at Clapham Junction). Hope everyone had a good weekend x.
