Home Alone 2: Lost In…south east London?

November 22, 2012

Eliza this weekPhotos, from left: spotting a rare smile in the supermarket / my surprise bedfellow (I’m sleeping in her nursery – aka the old spare room – while my parents are here and found the Eliza duck in the sofa bed one night) / our final Tuesday NCT mum meet-up as everyone starts going back to work from next week. So, so sad about this…

Alex has just been away on his second work trip this month (to Manchester, slightly less sunny than the Barcelona of his last trip). Whereas last time it was just me and Eliza, my parents came to stay to keep us company this week. In my head this was going to involve lots of grandparent / granddaughter quality time meaning lie-ins and blissful free time for me to spend swanning around, napping and writing all the blog posts I have both in my head and on my phone in 3am night feed note form.

However, in reality this turned out not to be the case. Eliza is going through her worst bout of teething yet and has been awake most of the night for the majority of the past week. She has also developed a case of separation anxiety so bad that she’s hysterical whenever she can’t see me, especially today (please tell me this is teething so will stop once we get the next one through?). Fair to say she’s having a delicate old week. It’s been a really tough few days, hence all silence on the blog post front.

So I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who entered my What to Expect When You’re Expecting giveaway – I was blown away by the response! I’ll be back soon and announcing the winners over the next few days, so watch this space.
