We love the Carnaby Street Christmas lights
What are your favourite London Christmas lights? Possibly a controversial choice, but I love the creative quirkiness of the Carnaby Street ones over the crowd-pleasing illuminations of nearby Oxford Street and Regent Street.
Previous Carnaby ones have included giant marshmallow snowmen and hanging astronaut Santas, and this year they didn’t disappoint; there’s a Rolling Stone theme to coincide with the nearby pop-up store / album / tour. In light display terms, this has translated as plenty of big tongue action, gold disks and glittery showbiz stars. Last week Eliza and I took a quick detour to see them; I figured it’s never too early to get started on her childhood Christmas memories.
The Oxford Street lights do look really pretty from the top of the Centrepoint Bar though and the ones around Seven Dials / Covent Garden are usually lovely too, but I’ve not seen them this year yet – let me know what they’re like if you have.
PS – great Christmas jumpers for children…

I was excited to see the Rolling Stones reference in the decorations. I wonder how they would look when it’s dark out? Christmas lights are always lovely. They’re one of the best parts of the holiday.

I thought I’d commented on this post already but it appears not. I always get distracted. Anyway…. The Carnaby Street lights are always my favourite and I much prefer them to the Oxford and Regent Street ones. Carnaby Street ones always just seem that little bit cooler.
