Bus rides, babyccinos and blog posts

What are your toddler’s favourite things to do? As well as baking funny cupcakes, making loads of mess with paints and running around for hours, one of Eliza’s most loved activities is go to a ‘cafe’ and get a babyccino. Which really makes me laugh in a ‘kids today, eh?’ way.

She also loves public transport – the ‘train that goes under the ground’ and the tram are firm favourites – and sitting on the top deck of the bus makes her really happy. Especially if there’s a babyccino at the end of it.

We’re trying to cover all of these as part of my master plan of toddler activities before the baby arrives. Admittedly, I’ve really never been a massive over-scheduler when it comes to activities. We have been getting out a lot, but we’ve also been spending lots of days where we just hang out in the house as I think we both need this balance.

And because today will probably be rainy (of course!) here’s some blog posts to read if you’re staying close to home:

* I’ve written about how pregnancy makes you a superhero, and here’s my latest baby update.

* As I’m looking for a new camera but completely clueless about the world of DSLRs, I was quizzing Kat from the lovely lovely Kat Got the Cream blog about hers. She’s now written about it here

* Giving birth soon? I was fascinated by this post from Clemmie about active labour and keeping moving, even if you are being monitored and you’re told to stay on your back on the bed (Was anyone else told this? I was last time; I refused because it hurt too much and the midwife was cross)

* And it’s still toddler month on TalkMum, and this week I’ve also written on picking baby names and top toddler apps.

Have a great Monday x.

My two love going to cafes as well – but as soon as the food is gone, they want to explore, so it’s not quite the relaxing experience it used to be! Re: being monitored, I wasn’t with either of my labours, and don’t think I could have laid down the whole time either – with Daisy I stood up for almost everything except the pushing, when I was on all fours!

Loved my active birth class, made so much sense and was where I made some of my best mum friends!

Cherry and I used to love going to cafes before Tiger was born now it’s not quite such a relaxing experience 😉 – although it was something we still did regularly until he started walking and wanted to get down and run off! x

Hey lovely, glad you liked the post and found it useful. Bea had her first babyccino the other day (with marshmallows). I’m training her up to be my new cafe buddy when Flo goes to school full time in Sep!

My eldest two were not really part of the cafe culture but India is no stranger to a babyccino & a coissant pit-stop!!

I am not nearly as far along as you but I also feel pressure to do things with the little man before the next baby arrives – as it really is a precious time and sort of the calm before the storm, as well as the moment before you life changes forever again. I have to say we love babyccinos as well 🙂
