27 Weeks Pregnant: Everything That Annoyed Me This Week

July 17, 2014

27 Weeks Pregnant – Here’s My Pregnant Diary And 27 Weeks Pregnant Baby Bump

Here’s my latest pregnancy update at 27 weeks pregnant. My main 27 weeks pregnancy symptom? EVERYTHING is annoying me…

Here’s my 27 weeks pregnant baby bump:

27 weeks pregnant baby bump

Oh, 27 Weeks Pregnant…

If you were to believe popular culture, then pregnant women have around three emotions:

  • Open-mouthed shock or extreme excitement at the positive test
  • Serene, dreamy, naval-gazing introspection
  • Surprise when their waters break, usually over someone’s feet or in a busy shopping centre

But it’s not really like that, is it? Real life pregnancy symptoms and emotions are more along the lines of:

  • Extreme PMT (sounds like a new name for a TV programme)
  • Nothing at all
  • All of the emotions in the world, all at once

One of the things I rarely see people mention is irritation. And this week, at 27 weeks pregnant, thanks to a mix of not sleeping brilliantly, the heat, the HEAT, and just general stuff, mine has been on the red mist end of a scale that goes from ‘slightly annoying hair brushing against your face’ through to ‘Ross from Friends’ sandwich rage.’

So continuing with the slightly testy theme of the week, here are some things that have annoyed me:

  • Our new kitchen not being delivered, several times, and the kitchen providers not being anywhere near remorseful enough
  • Not having cake in the house
  • Someone buying me cake, but it being the wrong type
  • People standing in the pram section of the bus
  • Oh thanks middle aged man sat nattering in the priority seat, I didn’t want to sit down at all
  • Those useless bits of ribbon that are sewn into clothes
  • Most things
  • Someone (mentioning no names) suggesting that I was being irrational and hormonal and I should ‘just cheer up.’

To borrow the name of a certain popular Mumsnet message board…am I being unreasonable…or not?

I have calmed down though, slightly – to the relief of the youngest and oldest members of my immediate family – and have resumed sobbing infront of the TV (24 finale! Arghhh).

A pregnancy update at 27 weeks pregnant - signs, symptoms and cravings (there was one main one this week!) Read this is you're #pregnant #TTC #secondtrimester

As I’m actually writing this on time, for once, at 27 weeks pregnant. I’m just about to hit 28 weeks, meaning the third trimester, and our next growth scan. Which I’m really looking forward to, especially as we’re taking Eliza with us. I can’t quite get my head around it being the first time my two children will come face to face, but it sounds like it’ll be something special.

P.S. my dress is from H&M!

Here’s some slightly less angry pregnancy updates at 26 weeks25 weeks, 24 weeks22 weeks21 weeks, 20 weeks, 19 weeks18 weeks, week 17week 16week 15week 14, and the first trimester.

DRESS ENVY! I saw that dress in H&M the other day and am now kicking myself for not buying it. It’s BEAUTIFUL! Now, the rage. Yes, yes and yes. I am regularly irritated and, yesterday, told my husband he’d irritated me from the moment I woke up. He didn’t get out of bed quickly enough, then didn’t make the bed, then forgot change for the hospital car park (our daughter had a fracture clinic appointment) then was just generally being… irritating. I managed – for the first time in 3 years – to have an afternoon nap yesterday and it was amazing how it lightened my mood! I think sleep is the way forward. Sleep and sleeping with the window open (a 2am argument I had with my other half last night – I won, obviously). Thanks for linking up again to the #BlogBumpClub! x

Lol this really made me chuckle, and I am sooo with you. i got really annoyed, and I mean properly angry today, with the met office because they forecast sun and I hung the washing out, only for it to rain allll morning. Now of course the sun is out, the washing is dry, it is absolutely boiling and surprisingly I am still not happy…. definitely blaming the pregnancy hormones! 🙂 great post! xx #blogbumpclub

All of the things that have annoyed you are totally rational! I’m struggling having my hot water bottle newborn baby permanently attached to me in this heat, so can imagine pregnancy in it is awful. You do, however, look wonderful xx

Hahaha this made me laugh! Those ribbons in tops always give me rage! I haven’t quite got to the angry phase yet, am only 13 weeks, but I do remember it from last time! Just another lovely little extra to enjoy on top of all the other emotions aye?! X

I think those ribbons are actually downright annoying anyway! Maybe you’ll bypass the rage this time (with any luck?) It can be such a fun time though 🙂 x

I’m so British, there’s no way I’d do that – I’m passively aggressively moaning about him in a blog post instead 🙂

Oh yes – waited for our cable guy to show up… arrived 5 minutes before the end of the 5 hour arrival slot despite promises of arriving earlier. Argh… and… the heat! Montreal is blistering. 26 weeks and annoyed….

You look great Gill. My bump was visible around 9 weeks in my second pregnancy! crazy since it didn’t appear till much later in my first. I have two girls (3) and (1) they run us around but are our pride and joy 🙂

    Enjoy your pregnancy!
